In the occupied Dokuchaevsk in “DNR”, militants threw a smoke grenade at the patrol of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission. This is stated in the report of the Organization.
"SMM patrol consisting of five officers on two armored vehicles was on the north-eastern outskirts of Dokuchaevsk, controlled by the “DNR” (30 km south-west of Donetsk) On May 17. The mission was moving westward behind a green military truck with license plates DK-1823. Members of the mission patrol saw six men in military uniforms that were sitting at the rear of the cargo part of the truck. At 13:47, when the first SMM patrol car was 50 meters away from the truck, the observers saw one of those men throw a device of an unknown type (probably a smoke grenade), which fell about 10 meters ahead of the first SMM car. The device was burning producing white smoke. The SMM patrol bypassed this device, eventually passed the truck and drove farther to the closest safe place in Dokuchaevsk," the report says.
It is also reported that half an hour later the same patrol, returning to the base, stopped at the place of the incident and saw the traces of asphalt and grass burning, but the remains of the device could not be found.
Observers successfully returned to the base in occupied Donetsk and reported the incident to the Joint Control Center. The cars of the mission were not damaged.
Earlier it was reported that 70 OSCE patrols monitor delimitation line in Donbas, according to Gerashchenko. As of today, OSCE SMM in Ukraine consists of 22 locations, 14 of them in the occupies Donbas area.
