The militants suffered significant losses over the past week as a result of attempts to take a new position in the area of the Svitlodarsk bulge. It is reported by the press service of Defense Ministry Main Intelligence Directorate.

"The enemy suffered heavy losses in the period of December 19-25: 18 soldiers killed and 38 wounded, including three killed and five wounded militants from the 9th Assault separate motorized rifle regiment of marines (Novoazovsk) AK 1 (Donetsk) of the Russian Armed Forces. One military wounded in the 2nd separate motorized rifle brigade AK 1 (Luhansk) of the Russian Armed Forces, and 15 gunmen killed and 32 wounded in the 7th separate motorized rifle brigade (Byanka) 2 AK", reported the directorate.

The attempts of the militants to take the new position in the Svitlodarsk arc, violations during the transport of weapons and ammunition, poor conditions of service and medical care are one of the main reasons for the increased losses in the ranks of militants.

Intelligence reports that civilian hospitals in Luhansk introduced visitors’ access restrictions regime in connection with the concealment of placing a large number of wounded soldiers of the Russian occupation troops.

"The morgue of the city's main hospital is filled with killed Russia-backed militants. Civilians are discharged from hospitals to place wounded gunmen", reads the report.
