Russian-backed militants shell Ukrainian positions and Marinka checkpoint

Militants in Donetsk region shelled the supervising station of Ukrainian military and Marinka entry-exit checkpoint, the press office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports. 

‘Russian occupants keep using weapons within certain humanitarian road corridors at the crossing points of boundary line during its work working hours, disregarding their obligations to cease fire and ensure the safety of the civilian population. Yesterday at 6:25 p.m., they directly targeted the positions of Joint Forces units from the side of Oleksandrivka settlement, not far from Donetsk, using small arms and heavy machine-gun fires. Marinka supervising station placed near the entry-exit checkpoint, where the border officers serve with the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, got under the shelling,’ reads the message.

It was also reported that no one got hurt within the firing range.  

‘The servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the personnel of the Joint Forces provided a proper security level,’ reads the message. 

All entry-exit checkpoints on the boundary line in the Joint Forces Operation zone opened on schedule today, November 4.
