Militants shell Marinka checkpoint from sniper rifle

Russian occupation forces shelled Marinka entry-exit checkpoint from a sniper rifle. The press office of the Joint Forces Operation reported this on Facebook.

The incident occurred on October 18 at 4 p.m.

‘It is likely that the sniper of the Russian occupation forces performed shelling of Marinka entry-exit checkpoint from a spoil tip on the territory of temporarily occupied Donetsk during its working hours when the significant number of people were crossing the boundary line,’ reads the message.

According to the security forces, 7.62mm bullet ricocheted off the steel support of a cover and hit the back window of one of the cars.

‘Fortunately, no one was inside the car. Nobody injured, the border officers take measures to provide security for people and personnel,’ the HQ noted.

As it was reported earlier, over the previous day, the militants in Donbas opened fire at the Ukrainian positions 16 times.

Reportedly, over the past week, OSCE SMM observers reported over 3,700 violations of the ceasefire and confirmed the deaths of two civilians.
