Militants continued to use mortars of various calibers to shell the positions the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the Friday in Donbas conflict area. As a result of the attacks, one Ukrainian soldier was wounded. This was reported by Ukraine’s Army press center in Facebook.
"In total, from the beginning of the day, illegal armed groups violated the silence regime six times, and one Ukrainian soldier was injured due to the enemy shelling," the report says.
In Luhansk area, militants from grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns fired on the Ukrainian positions around Novhorod. Militants also shelled our positions from grenade launchers near Luhanske, and from small arms - they violated the truce near Zaitseve.
"In the Donetsk direction, the enemy used 120- and 82-mm mortars near Pisky, and from small arms fired at our strong points near the Slavne," the report said.
As it was reported earlier the Austrian government considers the option to send the peacekeepers to Donbas if the UN deploys its peacekeeping mission there. Sebastian Kurz, the Austrian Chancellor, said this during the joint press conference with Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko.
The Ukrainian leader visited Austria for negotiations with the country's leaders. Petro Poroshenko and chairman of the Austrian Parliament Wolfgang Sobotka discussed a wide range of political issues, including the situation in Donbas and the importance of anti-Russian sanctions.
