Russia-backed militants continue shelling Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. Enemy fires from tanks and shoots not only the positions of the Ukrainian military, but also civilians. This was announced by Ukrainian Armed Forces Press Officer Olena Mokrenchuk, 112 Ukraine TV Channel reports.
"There are several tanks and they shell from different sides and fire not only on the positions of the Ukrainian troops, but also on civilian areas. One of the houses was hit the day before yesterday. It burned down, leaving people homeless. Yesterday tanks shelled at civilian areas the whole day. The shelling is consistently strong, it happens all the time, becoming even more severe at night. Ukrianian officers hold and try to do everything possible to stop these attacks", Mokrenchuk said.
Donetsk region Governor Pavlo Zhebrivskyi also reported shelling in Avdiivka on Facebook. According to him, the militants have increased attacks in the morning.
"Gunmen intensified attacks at around 6 am on the positions of our troops in the vicinity of Avdiivka. It is quietly in the city. Repair crews are ready to repair power lines immediately after shelling stops", said Zhebrivskyi.
