The authorities of occupied districts of Luhansk and Donetsk regions stated that they would not open all entry-exit checkpoints in Donbas on November 10. This was reported by the media.
Thus, the representative of the so-called "Luhansk People's Republic"Olga Kobtseva stated that the checkpoints would not work because Ukraine had allegedly changed its negotiating position and had refused to equip Shchastia with a vehicle crossing point.
"The road map clearly states that a vehicle crossing point is a checkpoint for cars and trucks. Simultaneous opening of checkpoints will not take place tomorrow morning," Kobtseva said.
As we reported earlier, Leonid Kravchuk, the head of Ukraine's delegation in Trilateral Contact Group, noted that local elections in the occupied territories of Donbas could be held under the single-constituency system.
According to the official, the Ukrainian Parliament was ready to develop the special law on the election in Donbas. But these could only take place after the Ukrainian government restores control over the occupied areas and the section of the border, which are currently held by Russian militants.
