Militants reduce combat activity in JFO zone

Over the past 24 hours the militants reduced the number of firing provocations, but started using the mortar launchers of heavy calibers again, as Oleksandr Motuznyak, the Spokesperson of Ukraine’s Defence Ministry on JFO, as the briefing, reported.

The militants performed seven attacks at the Ukrainian positions in Luhansk sector. The enemy was using grenade launchers of various calibers and small arms near Krymske, Luhanske, Pivdenne and Novgorodske. At around 11 pm the militants applied 82-mm mortar launcher near Novoluhanske.

Main battle actions were being conducted in Donetsk sector, as the representatives of the Ministry inform. In total, the militants performed 23 attacks over the past 24 hours having opened fire at night and continuing firing all the day. The defenders of Marinka, Lebedynske, Pavopil, Shyrokyne, Avdiivka and Vodyane came under fire from the machine guns and grenade launchers multiple times. Additionally, infantry fighting vehicle was applied near Hnutove, anti-tank guided missile – near Chermalyk. The enemy used 82-mm mortar launchers near Avdiivka and Lebedynske and 120-mm mortar launchers near Hnutove.

In total, the militants conducted 30 attacks on the confrontation line. The Ukrainian troops have opened fire 11 times as a response.

As a result of the battle actions, three Ukrainian military servicemen were wounded. For now, all of them are hospitalized, their condition is satisfactory.
