On August 2, the militants shelled the Ukrainian positions in Donbas conflict zone five times, as the ATO HQ Facebook page informs.

“As opposed to yesterday’s escalation by the enemy, today the Russia-backed militants reduced the amount of provocations. From midnight to 7 pm the militants broke the cease-fire five times,” the message informs.

It is noted that the militants shelled Ukrainian strongholds in Krymske and Prychepylivka on Luhansk front, and at around 4 pm, the enemy fired at least 30 82-mm mortars at Ukrainian troops in Troyitske.

On Donetsk front, small arms were used to shell Avdiivka, and a sniper was working on Mariupol front.

“As the tradition is, to the clumsy attempts of the enemy to demonstrate their superior firepower, the Ukrainian Armed Forces opened quick return fire from small arms and heavy machine guns,” the message summarized.

As it was reported earlier, one Ukrainian soldier killed, two injured in Donbas over the past 24 hours.
