In the area of Avdiivka situation remains tense, pro-Russian militants today fired at the city with 77 shells. It is reported by the press center of ATO HQ on Facebook.

"The Ukrainian side of Joint coordination and control centre notes that on February 26, illegal armed groups are continuing attacks on positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, civilian settlements and key infrastructure objects along the boundary line," said in a statement.

According to the press center, the most tense situation remains in Avdiivka area.

"During this period, the enemy applied in Avdiivka direction 20 shells of caliber 125 mm, 20 mines of caliber 120-mm and 37 mines of caliber 82 mm, which is a flagrant violation of the Minsk agreements banning the use of heavy types of weapons," say the headquarters.

In addition, the Ukrainian side stressed that in the next 48 hours, they can not carry out restoration work on the site of damaged power lines and filter plant in Donetsk because of the refusal of armed groups to provide security guarantees for maintenance crews.
