Illegal armed groups in Donbas continue to violate the ceasefire regime along all the delimitation line, including Zolote and Petrivske, where disengagement is supposed to take place. The press secretary of Leonid Kuchma Darka Olifer stated this on Facebook, summarizing the results of the Trilateral Contact Group meeting in Minsk.
“Ukrainian side stated firmly that such disengagement can only take place in case of ensuring 7-day-long “silence mode” in these areas. Despite the obligations stipulated in the Minsk agreements, the illegal armed groups in occupied territories do not withdraw heavy artillery from the line of contact, instead placing tanks and mortars at the frontline.”
As it was reported earlier, deputy chairman of the Office of the President of Ukraine Yuriy Kostyuk confirmed the delay in forces’ separation in the area of Zolote, which was supposed to start a week ago. It happened because Donbas militants shelled disengagement area in Zolote from heavy machine guns.
On October 1, the sides agreed on the beginning of the disengagement of the forces in Zolote (Luhansk region) and Petrovske (Donetsk region) during the Trilateral Contact Group session.
