Militants are blocking the maintenance works on the civilian infrastructure near delimitation line in Donbas, according to the statement by Ukrainian side in the Joint Coordination and Control Center on ATO HQ Facebook page.
It is noted that works need to be undertaken at phenolic plant in Novhorodske settlement in Donetsk region in order to enhance emergency protection system, as if it is damaged, harmful substances may enter river Kryvyi Torets and then Siverskyi Donets, which is one of the few sources of drinking water for the whole Luhansk region.
The similar situation is observed with the levee of stabilization pond in Novoluhanske. Delay in rehabilitation of both objects may lead to ecological catastrophe and outbreak of infection. The problem is that these levees are located in immediate vicinity of delimitation line — within reach from any types of weapons.
At the same time, the efforts to restore power supply in Zaytseve, Donetsk region, and launch gas distribution station in Marinka are being disrupted over half a year. This station is currently not working. As a result, 26 thousand of Marinka and Krasnohorivka residents, 6 schools and 5 children's pre-school establishments are not provided with gas for domestic used and do not have heating in winter period.
There is also a water pipe, connecting Avdiivka Coke Plant, Horlivka-Toretkse water line and others, which also needs repair.
