Militants attack Pivdenne settlement in Donbas

Today pro-Russian militants fired at the village of Pivdenne in the Donetsk region. This is stated by the Ukrainian side in the Joint Control and Coordination Center.

120-mm mortar was used to fire the illegal armed formations, the mine flew into the residential sector of the village. At the scene of the shelling, the JCCC representatives found a crater from an explosion on the asphalt roadway of the street.. The facade of the House of Culture has been damaged by the projectiles of the mine.

"There were no casualties among civilians, no ammunition that did not explode. The fire was directed towards Pivdennoye, and the distance from the mine's location to the nearest positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is about 1 km, which directly indicates intentional shelling of civilian population by militants," the statement said.

Ukrainian diplomats will hold a meeting on Sunday in Donbas. Pavlo Klimkin, Head of Ukrainian MFA posted a common photo with the ambassadors on Facebook. 

'Morning. And 80 representatives of diplomatic services in good humor fly to Donbas. The session of the ambassadors - 2018,' the Minister said.

As Ukrainian Ambassador in Germany Andriy Melnik noted, the diplomats headed to the east of Ukraine accompanied by the military.  

Later, Melnik added that the diplomats will visit the Joint Forces Operation area.

The meeting of the heads of the foreign diplomatic agencies in Ukraine is scheduled for the end of August.

‘In terms of the meeting of the heads of the foreign diplomatic agencies in Ukraine, we will coordinate the recovery actions of sovereignty and territorial integrity of a State and will determine the key priorities for the whole range of external relations of ours,' the President claimed this on August 4.
