Militants attack less to show allegedly democratic "elections", - Joint Forces Commander

The militants decreased the number of the attacks before the so-called elections to show that, allegedly, this “elections” are held in a democratic way, as Sergiy Nayev, Joint Forces Commander, said, BBC Ukraine reported.

“Now, the number of the attacks is gradually decreasing. This is connected with the preparation to the fake “elections”. This way, they are trying to show that, allegedly, this “elections” are held in a democratic way,” Nayev stated.

He stressed that in total, the number of the attacks performed by the enemy has increased since the beginning of the Joint Forces Operation.

“The enemy shot at our positions more than 5,000 times, using Minsk-banned weapons – around 1000 times. The situation in Mariupol sector is the most intense for now. Occasionally, tension occurs in Horlivka sector and Svidlodarsk,” Nayev stated.

Reportedly, the militants announced the conduction of the “elections” on the territory of the so-called “DNR” and “LNR” on November 11, 2018. The so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic” intends to conduct elections due to the death of Oleksandr Zakharchenko.
