Counterintelligence service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) established the location and detained a militant of the so-called Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republic (LPR/DPR) during a special operation. He turned out to be a shooter of the illegal armed group "Somalia” as the SBU reported.
"SBU counterintelligence detained a DPR militant from the Somali assault unit," the message says.
According to the investigation, the detainee is a local resident who joined illegal armed groups in December 2018.
The attacker was part of the "DPR" assault unit called "Somalia", which provided armed resistance to the Ukrainian military involved in the Joint Forces Operation in the area of Shyroka Balka, Pikuza and Dolomytne in the Donetsk region.
Subsequently, the offender left the ranks of the militants and secretly returned to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, where he tried to escape justice.
During searches at the location of the militant, law enforcement officers found his "DPR military ID". Moreover, the suspect testified against the regular military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces, who are in the positions of advisers and directly directing illegal armed groups.
SBU investigators informed the detainee of suspicion of committing a crime due to the participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization. A court ruled that militant should be kept in custody.
As we reported, police detained in Kyiv head of the Donetsk prison "Isolation" Denys Kulykovsky nicknamed Palych.
