Militant from occupied territories sentenced to eight years of imprisonment

The resident of Dnipro city who fought on the side of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment. The press service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reported that. 

"According to the information of the SSU, the militant of the "Luhansk People's Republic" terroristic organization who was involved in shellings of Ukrainian military subdivisions is sentenced to prison up to eight years," the message reads.

According to law enforcers, a resident of Dnipro city joined the illegal armed formations in 2014.

It is mentioned that the man participated in attacks near Zorynsk, Perevalsk, Sentianivka, Bahmutka, Zholobok, Sokolnyky and Debaltseve over his five years of service. 

It is reported that the pro-Russian military man was detained by the agents of Ukraine's counter-intelligence service together with servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Joint Forces Operation area in March 2019.

Lysychansk court of Luhansk region found the detained guilty of committing the crime foreseen by Article 258-3 (participation in terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
