Maiorske checkpoint resumes its operation on August 28

Maiorske checkpoint in Donbas region to resume its operation on the morning of August 28. The press office of the Joint Forces Operation claimed on Facebook.

‘Due to the betterment of the situation with security in the area of the Maiorske checkpoint, Lieutenant-General Serhiy Nayev, Commander of the Joint Forces adopted a decision on the opening of the Maiorske checkpoint, tomorrow from 6 a.m. on August 28, 2018,’ reads the message.

‘The leadership of the Joint Forces warns the enemy forces about the further complications of the situation in the area of all checkpoints without exception. The leadership of the Joint Forces reserves the right to take more decisive steps in accordance with the Ukrainian laws in the case of the escalation of the situation,’ the JFO headquarters added.

Reportedly, on August 24, Maiorske checkpoint in Donetsk region had suspended its operation because of the regular shelling performed by the militants.

As we reported earlier, Maiorske checkpoint was shelled from sniper rifles on August 23. One of the units where the border officers were conducting the pass of the citizens through the inter-entity boundary line was damaged during the shelling.
