Avdiivka, Donetsk region is still cut from electricity supplies as the maintenance crews failed to fix the power line in the war-torn town. Pavlo Zhebrivsky, the governor of Donetsk region posted that at Facebook.
‘The city has no access to power supplies for now. Today, as soon as the temporary ceasefire was set, the crews walked along the power lines and could not find where exactly the lines were broken. Some of the wiring was lightly damaged, but such kind of damage could not lead to the shutdown. The parties decided to continue with the ceasefire so that the crews could fix the visible damage. There’s enough water in the city’s water tanks, and it is supplied on the schedule. The heating is on, too, thanks to Avdiivka coke plant,’ he wrote.
Avdiivka has been one of the most heavily shelled areas across the entire combat area in eastern Ukraine; it is currently held by Ukrainian troops. The city is badly damaged due to the constant shelling that has been lasting - almost without breaks - since late 2016.
