"Luhansk People's Republic" informants detained in Luhansk region

The informants of the so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic” (LPR) were detained in the Luhansk region. They were passing information about the location of the Ukrainian soldiers to the occupants, as the press office of Luhansk Prosecutor’s Office reported.

The informants were acting on the territory of the region in 2017-2018. There were two residents if Ukraine-controlled Lysychansk and Rubizhne, and a man from Kreminna among the informants. The participant of the illegal armed formation “People’s police” controlled their activity.

The informants were gathering and passing information to the coordinator. Occupants were interested in the displacement of the Ukrainian military. Then, the coordinator was passing information to his curator, a Russian citizen.

Law enforcers carried out searches and found electronic devices which helped the militants to pass information. They were served with charges concerning participation in the terrorist organization “LPR” and cooperation with it. Two informants have already received restrictive measures in a form of detention in custody. They face 8 and 15 years of imprisonment with a seizure of property or without it.
