Militants of the self-styled DPR, Donetsk People’s Republic shelled the residential blocks in Avdiivka, Donetsk region; by now, the attacks on the town have ceased but the fights in its vicinities continue. At least one civilian was killed in an artillery attack that took place during the day. Vyacheslav Abroskin, the Head of the regional branch of the National Police, posted this at Facebook.
‘The artillery strike was delivered on Avdiivka’s residential blocks. Rescue teams are working at the scenes. The attack killed a 43-year-old man who died due to the shrapnel wounds,’ he wrote.
Ukrainian army units stationed in this area of Donetsk region say that during the frequent attacks that began in the afternoon, the enemy opened fire from tanks – presumably from Russian-made T-90s According to Ukrainian MP Oxana Korchynska, 125 mm tank shells hit the area just 400 meters from the civilian hospital in Avdiivka.
