Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany announced the negotiations of the leaders of Ukraine, Germany and France that should take place in Aachen in May 2018. She claimed this during the joint briefing with Petro Poroshenko as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.

‘Ukrainian president will be in Aachen. Possibly, there will be a meeting. President Macron and I also will be there. Of course, it will be not a Normandy Format. The Russian president will not be present in Aachen but the three of us will exchange opinions. The further steps will be made but they cannot be called Normandy Format’, Merkel noted.

The meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Normandy Four countries did not take place during the Munich Security Conference as it was planned. The negotiations should take place on February 16.

Leaders of the Normandy Four negotiation group claimed it will consider possible ways to speed up the implementation of Minsk agreement provisions on March 29.
