About 400,000 civilians in Donetsk region are cut off from drinking water sources. According to the Ukrainian Ministry for the Temporarily Occupied Territories, Southern Donbas water pipeline ceased working on June 11 due to the shelling.
Residents of Mariupol, as well as Pokrovsk, Volnovakha and Dobropillya districts face the threat of being cut off from water supply mechanisms.
Malfunctions of the gas and water pipelines is one of the major issues for dozens of thousands civilians who stayed in the combat area when the Donbas conflict began in 2014. The ongoing artrillery and mortar strikes damage the vital infrastructure, leaving people without heat, electricity and water.
