Prosecution authorities of Donetsk region began the pre-trial investigation on the fact of the murder of Ukrainian combat medic in Donbas. The press department of the Office of Prosecutor General reported that on July 14.
On July 13, commander of the reconnaissance force of the Ukrainian military stepped on an explosive device not far from Zaitseve, Luhansk region. The Ukrainian side agreed with the militants that the ceasefire would hold for the period that is necessary to evacuate the body of the deceased. However, the enemy opened fire in this area, using heavy machine guns. This resulted in the medic's death.
"Sergeant, senior combat medic of airborne assault force was eventually killed, and deputy commander of the HQ suffered injuries of moderate severity. Thus, prosecutors consider these actions of Russian illegal armed gangs as obnoxiousness, which is directly banned by Article 37 of Additional Protocol to 1949 Geneva Conventions", reads the message.
The bodies of the deceased are still on the battlefield, as militants do not provide any guarantees of the ceasefire.
