Twelve Ukrainian military servicemen, released from the occupied Donbas and exchanged on December 29, will be examined by doctors at the Chief Military Hospital. All the released are in satisfactory condition, Ukraine's Defense Ministry reports.
Minister Andriy Zahorodniuk met the fighters at the hospital, congratulated them on the return and guaranteed them treatment and rehabilitation.
"In the near future, all the released fighters will be examined by military doctors and specialists of medical service. In case they need it, the servicemen will get the necessary medical assistance", the Ministry reported.
The detailed medical examination will take place Monday morning, as the servicemen need to have some rest. Some may need psychological and physical rehabilitation.
As is known, on December 29, Ukraine and representatives of the militant-held Donbas exchanged prisoners; these are political prisoners, POWs and civilians, some of which were not even convicted. The venue was Mayorske checkpoint in Donetsk region. Ukraine passed 127 people to the non-controlled territory, and the Russian mercenaries passed 76 people to Ukraine; 12 of these were military servicemen. Another 14 people refused to be exchanged.
