The swap process between Ukraine and the occupied Donbas has officially begun. Lyudmyla Denisova, the Ukrainian Parliament's envoy for human rights posted that on Facebook.
"The long-awaited process of mutual release began in Mayorske in Donbas right now; our guys are coming back to motherland".
The official asked everyone to take the process with great responsibility and to avoid "spreading the non-verified information until it is officially over".
Office of the President of Ukraine, too, officially confirmed that the swap has begun.
As is known, Ukraine's government and that of the occupied Donbas agreed that the exchange would begin on 11 a.m. December 29. The respective agreements were made on December 23, during the Minsk group session.
The venue is Mayorske entry-exit checkpoint in Donetsk region. As of 11 a.m., the exchange procedure began, and first Ukrainians crossed the checkpoint.
