Spokesperson of Russia's President Vladimir Putin, Dmitriy Peskov stated that Kremlin fears the renewal of the war in Ukraine as Interfax reported.
“We express concern due to the rising tensions and reiterate our concern that anyway the Ukrainian side might take provocative actions that lead to the war. Of course, we would not like to see it. I mean the war that has already taken place there,” he told the journalists.
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak stated that Russia gathers tactical forces from its western and southern regions and brings them close to the Ukrainian border.
As we reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the preparation of the Normandy Format meeting. However, in case it does not take place, the leader of the state will find another format of the talks with each side.
On March 18, Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak offered during the meeting of the political advisers of the countries of Normandy Format to adopt at this level the joint statement on the return to comprehensive ceasefire regime in Donbas that was established on July 27, 2020.
On March 29, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated he intends to initiate negotiations with the leaders of the Normandy format member states regarding the aggravation of the situation in Donbas, where the number of cases of opening fire has significantly increased since the beginning of the year.
