Units of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) began preparations for a full and comprehensive ceasefire at 00:00 on Monday, July 27, as agreed at the July 22 Trilateral Contact Group meeting. The press center of the JFO headquarters reported this on its Facebook page.
It is noted that in the past, ceasefire measures were carried out only by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Ukraine, as a democratic state, which strictly adheres to all international agreements, including agreements with the Russian Federation stipulated by the Minsk agreements, is taking all the necessary measures to properly control the ceasefire," the message says.
The headquarters explained that for this, additional control over the units at the first line of defense will be carried out by officers with past experience in conducting peacekeeping operations in different parts of the world.
If the enemy violates the agreements, the Ukrainian military will act in accordance with the norms of international law and national legislation.
On July 22, a regular meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group was held in the format of a videoconference, which resulted in the achievement of agreements on a full and comprehensive ceasefire on the contact line from July 27.
