The militants tried to commit a provocation having left 40 cars for a night in the “grey zone” near Marinka checkpoint, as the JFO HQ reported on Facebook.
It was noted that the occupants impeded the process of citizens’ crossing towards the territory of Ukraine intentionally, which caused a cluster of more than 40 vehicles at the checkpoint from the side of the territory beyond Ukraine’s control.
“When it was ten minutes before the checkpoint closes at 8 pm, the civilians were allowed to move towards Ukraine. Therefore, more of these people had to spend a night in a so-called “grey zone” before the Ukrainian checkpoint, when the attacks are likely to be performed,” the HQ informs.
To avoid negative consequences, the Joint Forces command continued the operation of the checkpoint for 30 minutes longer. Therefore, everyone who remained in the “grey zone” got on the territory of Ukraine.
Earlier, it was reported that the militants shot at the Ukrainian positions 57 times over the past 24 hours and ten times since midnight.
