The Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) condemned the mortar attacks of militants at the Ukrainian positions as the HQ of the Joint Forces Operation reported on Facebook.
The pro-Russian militants shelled the Ukrainian positions near Hnutove from 120mm mortars and 122mm artillery.
“It is established that the occupants opened fire at the direction of Telmanove using weapon banned by Minsk Agreements, particularly, 122mm artillery (3 shells) and 120mm mortars (7 mines),” the message said.
The HQ noted that the use of such type of the weapon shows “targeted actions of the armed formations of the Russian Federation and their mercenaries toward the further escalation, unwillingness to observe the ceasefire regime and deliberate non-fulfillment of the Minsk Agreements”.
24-year-old Ukrainian military man Andriy Protsenko deceased on September 2 in the result of the hostile attacks.
Since the beginning of the day, Russian occupants attacked Novotoshkivske (Luhansk region), Vodyane and Hranitne (Donetsk region), using 82 mm and 120 mm mortars, 122 mm artillery, IFVs, grenade launchers and small arms. In Vodyane, the enemy fired 24 mines.
