The minister is sure that it will be unnecessary to attract 40, 000 UN peacekeepers to this operation and 2, 000 law enforcers will be enough.

Avakov noted that the release of Donbas will take place gradually – with the establishment of the Ukrainian authority and consistent holding of the election in every released town and village.

The minister also reported that according to poll, about 60% citizens of Donbas want to return to the peaceful life in Ukraine, 20% want to join Russia and 20% afraid of the onslaught of the Ukrainian forces.

As we reported Arsen Avakov announced his plan on the reintegration of occupied territories of Donbas. According to him, it is impossible to reintegrate the whole occupied territory. Due to this, Avakov offers to begin with the particular areas.
