Counter-intelligence units of Ukraine's state security service confiscated a huge arsenal of weaponry, brought to peaceful territories of the country from the war-torn Donbas

In May and June, the SBU, Ukraine's state security service discovered and seized almost 100,000 ammo cartridges and other military property, coming from the combat zone in eastern Ukraine. The HQ of the Joint Forces Operation reports this on Facebook.

The arsenal seized from the illegal turnover includes an MRO-A flamethrower, 15 rocket-propelled grenade launchers, three heavy machineguns, eleven assault rifles, two handguns, over 1,200 rocket-propelled grenades, about 100,000 cartridges, 15 mortar mines, 55 hand grenades, smoke pellets and flares.

Law enforcers opened 20 criminal cases on the respective facts of confiscation.

The seized ammunition and weapons are now handed over to the military for re-registration and further legal use.

Last month, the regional branch of the National Police reported that a huge arsenal of live ammunition was discovered in Dnipro. 

According to the press service, a group of unidentified malefactors held the ammunition in a stash located in the wood belt; the ammunition was brought from the combat area in Donbas.   

The entire arsenal - mines, grenades, 12.7 ammo cartridges and detonator firing devices - was collected and sent for the expertise.
