The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) passed the letters and parcels to the Ukrainian prisoners who are illegally captured in the territory of Donbas that is uncontrolled by Ukraine. However, they did not succeed to meet them as the First Vice-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and the representative of Ukraine at the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Ukraine in Minsk Iryna Gerashchenko reported at Facebook.

‘The ICRC was able to pass the letters and parcels from the families of the prisoners to the occupied territories within the preliminary agreement if we talk about good. However, the representatives of the ICRC had no possibility to meet the guys, to see them, the head of the prison took everything’, she wrote on the results of the meeting of the TCG in Minsk.

Gerashchenko noted that there was no direct access for the ICRC to the prisoners since the beginning of the combat actions at the East of Ukraine and it is a major violation of the humanitarian part of the Minsk Agreements.

Ukraine confirmed the readiness of the prisoners’ exchange 309 for 887 at the meeting of the TCG in Minsk and the representatives of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions demand to release the criminals.
