The disengagement of troops and forces in Donbas will be effective once the JCCC (Joint Centre for Control and Coordination) starts to coordinate their efforts – in particular when it comes to clearing mine fields. Alexander Hug, the first deputy head of OSCE SMM in Ukraine, said this at a briefing.
The official added the OSCE witnessed effective work of the JCCC in Vasylivka, Donetsk region, which is now controlled by the Russia-backed rebels. In that area, Ukrainian and Russian officers jointly managed to make a deal with the militants for a temporary ceasefire, which made it possible to fix the water pump station.
Previously, the OSCE SMM reported that the disengagement process in Donbas suspended.
