House of Crimean Tatar activist came under fire last night in Crimea

Unknown men fired at the house of Crimean Tatar activist Dzhafer Ametov in the village of Kurske, Belogorsky district of the occupied Crimea at night of Thursday, November 16. This was reported by the Crimean Tatar activist Zair Smedlyaev on his Facebook page.

"Today at midnight, in the village Kurske, Belogorsky district, unknown people fired at the house of the Crimean Tatar activist Dzhafer Ametov," he wrote.

According to him, as a result of the attack there were no casualties.

As it was reported earlier several Crimean Tatars had their homes searched on November 8. The Russian police conducted searches in the apartments in the towns of Bakhchysarai, Staryi Krym and Zarichne village in Simferopol district.

According to Crimean Solidarity, the human rights watching organization, the law enforcers checked houses of Seitumer Seitumerov, Alimdar Bilyalov and Eldar Kantimirov; none of them are known for any sort of political activity or involvement in political forces.

Lawyers Edem Smedlyayev and Emil Kurbedinov confirmed that the searches took place.
