On Monday, July 26, illegal armed groups in Donbas violated the ceasefire and fired at the positions of the Ukrainian army from heavy artillery weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements. As a result of the shelling, seven servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were injured, according to the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) headquarters.
"As a result of the shelling, four servicemen received shrapnel wounds, and three more received combat injuries. After providing first aid, the wounded were transported to a medical institution. One serviceman was injured severely, six others are in satisfactory condition," the statement reads.
The headquarters also clarifies that Ukrainian defenders in the zone of responsibility of the East operational-tactical group were under fire from the militants' artillery. They returned fire towards the illegal armed groups.
"The actions of the armed formations of the Russian Federation were reported to the OSCE representatives through the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of ceasefire issues and stabilization of the delimitation line," the JFO headquarters emphasized.
As it was reported earlier, over the past day in Donbas, militants violated the ceasefire 11 times. As a result of the shelling, one Ukrainian soldier was wounded, and another had combat injuries.
