Head of the militants of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushylin states that the citizens of Donbas have stated their will to vote at the elections to the State Duma of Russia as [email protected] reported.
Besides, the request is reported to admit the citizens to the voting at the elections in Russia. It was filed to the President of Russia by local activist in occupied territory Yana Manuilova.
Meanwhile, Nezavisimaya Gazeta noted that over 500,000 citizens of Donbas with Russian passports, in fact, cannot participate in the elections in Russia as they should cross the state border to enter Russia and the polling station. There is no issue about the road to the Russian Consulate in Ukraine.
Kremlin takes it slow to change laws on legalization of the ‘Russian world’ as it will cause a negative reaction of the West. The issue is how far Moscow needs it now.
Earlier, Foreign Ministry of Ukraine urged the Ukrainian citizens in occupied territories not to participate in the elections to the Russian State Duma in autumn 2021.
As we reported, Russia and self-styled "people's republics" illegally issued passports for more than a million of citizens of occupied Donbas.
According to the human rights activists, the Kremlin demands that occupant authorities in Donetsk and Luhansk regions increase the rate of issuance of Russian passports. A lot of people from occupied territories leave to Russia for various reasons, including working, studying and treatment purposes.
