Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 18.078 million UAH (660,000 USD) for the purchase of housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs). The decision was made at a government meeting on July 7, the press service of the body reported.
Ukraine plans to purchase 65 real estate objects for about 201 IDPs in Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhya, Rivne, Odesa, Kyiv, Kherson, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.
As of May, 1,467,720 IDPs from the temporarily occupied territories (Donetsk, Luhansk regions, and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) were registered in Ukraine. In April, Ukraine approved a mechanism for the distribution of preferential mortgages for immigrants at 3% per annum.
As reported before, Ukraine and Turkey cooperated in the field of housing construction for representatives of the Crimean Tatar people and privileged categories of Ukrainian citizens who left their place of permanent residence due to the occupation of Crimea. Turkish government provides assistance, which amounts to 500 apartments: 200 apartments in Mykolaiv, 200 in Kherson, and 100 apartments in Kyiv.
