According to the German department, the reason for the meeting was the escalation of the conflict in Avdiivka. According to Fisher, during the meeting the sides will talk about the return to the ceasefire and withdrawal of units and heavy weapons from the contact line. "Ministers want to discuss further steps in the implementation of the Minsk agreements," he concluded.
