FSB accused the Crimean Tatars detained in Bakhchysarai, Crimea on October 11 of the membership in the entity ‘Khizb ut-Takhrir’ that is considered to be a terrorist entity in Russia. TASS reported this citing the FSB of Russia in Crimea.
‘The activity of the Bakhchysarai group of the international terrorist entity ‘Khizb ut-Takhrir’ that is forbidden in Russia was terminated’, the FSB reported.
This way the occupation authority opened the criminal cases under the article ‘Organization of the activity of the terrorist organization and participation in the activity of such organization’ towards six people.
Other details are still unknown.
‘Khizb ut-Takhrir’ is the international Islamic political party that was established in 1953 in East Jerusalem. The organization is recognized as the terrorist one in Russia and Kazakhstan. The members of the party are prosecuted in some countries of the Central Asia but they are not accused of the terrorism.
The party is forbidden in Germany and it is not recognized in Israel. However, the ban concerns only the public activity of the party and the German law enforcers do not prosecute the members of the ‘Khizb ut-Takhrir’. The party works legally and publicly in other European countries and America.
The searches took place in the dwellings of Crimean Tatars in the Russian-occupied Crimea on October 11. Head of the central election committee of Qurultai of Crimean Tatars Zair Smedlyayev reported that five people were detained. According to him, ‘Seyran Saliev’s house has been searched twice. 62-year-old father and brothers of Marlen Asanov were detained during the search. They do not let lawyer Emil Kurbedinov inside the house’.
