Operative situation in ATO zone remains tense. Situation escalated in separate areas, militants starting using artillery by nightfall, particularly the systems banned by Minsk agreement. 73 attacks on Ukrainian positions were recorded in total in the last 24 hours. Four Ukrainian soldiers were killed in enemy mortar shelling, three of them from direct hit with mine. Beyond that, four Ukrainian officers received gunshot wounds of varying degrees of seriousness, three more got injured. This was reported by ATO HQ on Facebook.
In Mariupol direction, militants opened fire 29 times yesterday. Firstly occupants shelled strongholds near Krasnohorivka using tube artillery of 122 and 120 mm mortars. Bandits fired portable multiple-launch rocket systems near Chermalyk. Positions near Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Slavne, Hnutove, Talakivka, Vodiane, Shyrokyne and Chermalyk were repeatedly attacked from grenade launchers and small arms, sometimes got under 82 mm mortars fire. Pavlopil was the hottest zone in the evening. Enemy used 82 mm mortars, IFV weaponry, grenade launchers of various modifications and other infantry weapons, conducted a number of dense firings on ATO positions.
In Donetsk direction, occupants continued to shell Ukrainian defenders near Avdiivka from 120 and 82 mm mortars. Explosions of mines and grenades there almost did not stop. Same weaponry was used near Verkhnyotoretske, Kamianka, Troitske and Luhansk. Less powerful armed provocations were also recorded near Zaytseve, Opytne, Nevelske and Novhorodske, where militants attacked positions of Ukrainian forces with grenade launchers and small arms, in separate parts fired 82 mm mortars. 21 attacks were recorded in this area overall.
In Luhansk direction, situation was the most quiet during the day. Russia-controlled armed groups violated ceasefire several times near Stanytsia Luhanska, Valuyske, Troitske and Donets, where they opened fire from small arms and grenade launchers of various modifications. Militants also fired 82 mm mortars near Krymske. However, enemy intensified the attacks significantly in the evening. Ukrainian strongholds were attacked near Krymske and Novotoshkivske from 120 and 82 mm mortars, 122 and 152 mm tube artillery systems, as well as infantry weapons. Beyond that, mortar shelling was recorded in Popasna, Novooleksandrivka and Troitske. Bandits fired IFV weaponry near Novozvanivka.
