Earlier the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker expressed support for the initiative of the European Parliament about the appointment of a special representative of the European Union for Donbas and Crimea. He claimed this in the interview to Interfax-Ukraine agency.
‘I think that this is a wonderful idea. I met with the members of the European Parliament about two weeks ago. I urged them to be focused on Donbas and Crimea,’ Volker claimed.
He expressed his readiness to work together in the case of the appointment of the EU special representative.
Kurt urged to keep focusing attention on the problems connected with the occupation of Donbas.
‘People are still suffering from a serious humanitarian crisis there, the war continues, it is still unsafe there, people keep dying. We can’t let this all to disappear from the public consciousness. This is very important that we have focused our attention on these issues,’ Volker noted.
The U.S. Special Representative of the U.S. State Department claimed that he was going to visit Ukraine once more in November.
