First stage of withdrawal of Ukrainian detachments took place in Stanytsya Luhanska, Donbas

The first stage of the withdrawal of the Ukrainian detachments under the surveillance of the OSCE mission took place in Stanytsya Luhanska as the Joint Forces Operation Headquarters reported.

“In the midday the Ukrainian military step back from one of the positions, which situated near Stanytsya Luhanska checkpoint. It took place under surveillance of the OSCE representatives, who were present at both sides,” the headquarters noted.

It is also noted that Commander of the Joint Forces Lieutenant General Oleksandr Syrsky observed the withdrawal of the troops. According to him, it is the first step of the withdrawal of the sides from the outskirts of Stanytsya.

The Ukrainian service men left particular positions pointed by OSCE at the Ukrainian and occupied sides on the signal of the flares.

“It is unknown yet, whether the enemy withdrew its military; the OSCE observers monitor it,” the headquarters added.

It is reported that the arrival of Ukraine’s Representative in the Trilateral Contact Group Leonid Kuchma is expected soon to continue work on the withdrawal of the sides to the frontier established by Minsk Agreements.

Earlier we reported that the militants attacked residential areas of frontline city Avdiivka. Local residents reported about the attacks at around 4:40 am. As the police officers defined, four houses were damaged as a result.
