The information about Ukrainian troops taking positions in Donetsk, which has been spread by certain media, is a fake. The Joint Forces Operation HQ reported this June 17.

The Command explained that hostile media spread this information to discredit the Ukrainian forces. The initial messages said that units of the Voluntary Ukrainian Corps of the Right Sector movement and servicemen of the King Danylo Detached Mechanized Brigade allegedly took positions in Donetsk. These messages contained personal data of the people who previously served with the volunteer units and then joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

'The goal of this information was to discredit the staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and leaders of the state in terms of political processes that are taking place in Ukraine and abroad, specifically in the view of the upcoming session of Minsk talks group and the foreign visits of Ukraine's political leadership slated for the near future', the Command of the Joint Forces Operation concluded.
