By Wednesday noon, 36 of the 42 Eurovision contestants arrived in Ukraine. Vyacheslav Kyrylenko, the Vice Prime Minister, tweeted that on May 2.
’36 teams are already here; 27 of them had rehearsals at the main venue of the contest (the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv, - 112 International),’ the post reads.
The first contestants came to Ukraine on April 29, and rehearsals started the day after that.
Eurovision 2017 will be taking place in Kyiv next week – from May 9 through May 13. Ukraine's rock band O.Torvald will perform in the final (22nd), as the host country and performers from the Big Five (the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain) don't need to qualify for the final round of this competition.
