The enrollment of people in the “Wagner Group” took place in annexed Crimea. Later these people were sent to Sudan as Pryamy TV channel reported citing Head of Apparatus of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Ihor Huskov.
“We know about not unique cases of the participation of the citizens of Ukraine in the so-called “Wagner Group” when our former citizens participated in it. Moreover, today we can say that the enrollment in the “Wagner Group” took place in occupied Crimea and the group aimed to Sudan. We have already published some of the surnames, and we will publish the second part of the surnames along with the journalists soon,” Huskov said.
Earlier the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) published a list of 149 mercenaries of Wagner’s group, who participated in the suppression of the democratic protests in Sudan at the beginning of 2019.
As we reported the SBU claimed about the presence of the evidence on the involvement of the Russian mercenaries from Wagner Group in the murder of three Russian journalists Orkhan Dzhemal, Aleksandr Rastorguev, and Kirill Radchenko in the Central African Republic (CAR).
The Wagner Group has been involved in Donbas conflict since May 2014 till August 2015. Then, it has moved to Syria, assisting the Syrian army in a number of combat operations.
