Eight civilians die, 60 get injured in Donbas over three months, - UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission

The report says that the period from May to August features the smallest number of fatalities among civilians if compared with the same periods in the previous years of the conflict

UN Monitoring Mission for Human Rights released a report, which said that eight civilians perished and another 60 were wounded in Donbas since May 16 till August 15. UNN news agency reported that, referring to the statement of Matilda Bogner, the chief of the Mission.

According to the mission, 56 unarmed locals were wounded during artillery attacks and skirmishes, where small arms and light weaponry was used, too.

46 attacks were reported on the territories held by the armed groups of Russian occupants.

Nine fatalities were observed on the territory controlled by the government, and another lethal case was observed on the neutral territory.

The report says that the period from May to August features the smallest number of fatalities among civilians if compared with the same periods in the previous years of the conflict. "Apart from that, those who were injured or buried their close ones or lost their dwellings still have not received any compensations for these irrecoverable losses", Bogner said.
