Draft document developed by Ukraine on sanctions for violations of the ceasefire in Donbas may be adopted on April 28 at the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) meeting. It was stated by the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Leonid Kravchuk.
The document will be discussed on April 27. Kravchuk says that ahead of the discussion, the TCG's working subgroup is working to finalize the draft document, which is designed to approve an addendum to a package of measures to strengthen the ceasefire in Donbas.
"If they come to some positive conclusion, we will discuss it at a general TCG meeting on April 28 and adopt this document. I believe this will be a very important step toward establishing peace in Donbas," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak says that the US may appoint a special envoy to settle and end the war in Donbas. The parties are already discussing the appointment.
"If we talk about concrete steps, the appointment of a U.S. special representative for the settlement and end of the war in Donbas is being actively discussed today. It is very important that such a person appears," he said.
