Donbas war: Russian-backed militants fire with Minsk-banned mortars

No casualties among Ukraine's forces have been spotted

The Russian-backed militants attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the Minsk-banned weaponry near Zolote-4 settlement of the Luhansk region. Oleksandr Motuzianyk, the Spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, stated this during the session, as the press service of the Ministry reports.   

“The enemy has opened fire the positions of the Joint Forces operation today. Besides, the Russian-backed militants used the banned weaponry by the Minsk peace agreement,” the report said.  

According to the spokesman, the Russian-backed militants fired with 82 mm mortar near Zolote-4 settlement, they used four shells at 7:20 PM.

Ukrainian servicemen have not opened fire in response to the hostile attack.

“The situation has settled down in Donbas for now; it is under the full control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. No casualties among the Joint Forces operation have been spotted,” Motuzianyk said.

Besides, according to the report, in the East operational group action zone, the enemy fired twice: with small arms near Stepove settlement, with heavy machine guns near Bohdanivka village.
