Donbas war: One Ukrainian soldier dies over 24 hours

June 5, one Ukrainian serviceman died and as a result of the hostile attack in Donbas conflict zone. The Joint Forces Operation (JFO) HQ reported this on Facebook.

“As a result of the attack, one soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deceased. Our subdivisions stopped the fire of the Russia-backed militants by opening fire as well, the enemy’s casualties have been checking yet,” the report said.

The Russian militants violated the ceasefire regime five times; they fired with manual anti-tank grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, automatic small arms, and sniper weaponry.

In Donetsk, the enemy fired three times:

  • With manual anti-tank grenade launchers near Talakivka village of Kalmius district of Mariupol city from the uncontrolled Pikyzy village;
  • With heavy machine guns, small arms with near Vodiane village of Donetsk region from Azov village;
  • With heavy machine guns near Novohorivka village of Volnovakha district from Starolasp village.

In Luhansk region, the occupants opened fire twice with automatic small arms and sniper weaponry at the positions of the Joint Forces operation near Zolote-1 settlement from Zolote-5 village (both villages are the part Zolote city of Popasna district of Luhansk region).
