The HQ of the Joint Forces Operation claimed that the government troops released Pivdenne village in Donetsk region. This is mentioned in the message on the HQ's Facebook page on Thursday evening.

'The tactical situation of the defenses in the area of Horlivka somewhat improved. The well-planned and prepared actions of the reconnaissance of the 24th brigade allowed them to provide safety for the civilians in Pivdenne (Chygyri). A group of enemy fighters was spotted in the area in early April. They were checking if the locals were loyal to the Ukrainian government, showing their presence there,' reads the message.

The Ukrainian forces developed the operation plan and brought it to life; the fight occurred in the vicinities of the village. The Ukrainian side took no casualties; the enemy lost one man killed, and another man wounded.

As of 11 p.m. Thursday, the Defense Ministry did not comment on the release of Pivdenne.
